Latest Hike

This morning we drove out to Jodi's cottage so we could go on a different hike.  After a while, doing the same trail does nothing for your body.  We need to be working different muscles and we have to build endurance.  Wolf Trail is a great trail - but it's not quite long enough...plus, you have to pay $13 each time for parking... it adds up!

We got to Jodi's cottage at about 10:45 or so and off we went.  It was Jodi, Sophie, RĂ©mi and I.  It was a beautiful day full of sunshine!  Off we went on the road - we are doing road hiking today!  It's a very windy and hilly road.  Who needs Gatineau Park when you have a cottage here?! Oh my the hills!  Up you go, down we go. Up we go, down we go for 7.5km.  Get the the end, turn around and come back for  a total of 15km.

On our hike we saw plenty of nature - birds, beaver dam, beautiful creeks, 2 fawns and lots of toads and frogs.

Once back at the cottage, Melissa had arrived and was waiting for us on the dock as she can't walk right now due to an injury to the hip.  We had a nice lunch and shortly after had a wonderful swim in the lake.  Clover the dog also enjoyed jumping in for sticks!

We had a fabulous day with great company!

Next day:
Now my legs feel like they are going to fall off, my hips are sore, my calves are extra tight - and my left foot ouch.  Good thing I have physio this afternoon!
